Suspects Open Fire on Police, Escape in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Two armed suspects managed to flee after opening fire on a police patrol in the federal capital on Thursday night. According to police, the incident occurred near Fauji Colony when officers tried to stop two men on a motorcycle following a tip-off from an informer at Mandi Mor.

Police File Terrorism Case

A case has been registered at the Sabzi Mandi Police Station under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including 324, 353, 186, and 34. Authorities confirmed that the suspects are wanted in several robbery cases across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Suspects Escape Despite Heavy Firing

Police officials said the suspects opened indiscriminate fire when signaled to stop but fled toward Mandi Mor after the officers took cover behind their vehicles. Fortunately, no officers were injured due to protective gear.

Law enforcement agencies have launched a manhunt to track down the fugitives involved in the armed assault.
