Imran Khan’s Sons Plan Pakistan Visit Amid Jail Condition Concerns

Visa Applications Submitted for January Visit

PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan’s sons, Kasim Khan and Suleiman Khan, have announced plans to visit Pakistan in January, saying they have already applied for visas. Speaking in an interview with journalist Yalda Hakim for Sky News, the brothers said they were hopeful of traveling after senior government figures publicly stated they were welcome to visit their father.

Kasim Khan said that unless authorities reverse their statements, they expect to arrive next month, adding that they are awaiting visa approval.

‘Held in a Death Cell’, Claim Sons

During the interview, both sons raised serious concerns about Imran Khan’s imprisonment at Adiala Jail. Kasim described the conditions as “awful,” while Suleiman claimed his father was being kept in what jail officials themselves allegedly referred to as a “death cell.”

According to Suleiman, the cell suffers from poor lighting, frequent power outages, and unclean water, conditions he said fall far below international standards for prisoners. The claims come as Imran’s family and PTI leaders continue to protest against restricted court-ordered meetings.

No Question of a Political Deal

When asked whether they would advise Imran Khan to strike a deal for his release, Kasim firmly rejected the idea. He said his father considers fighting corruption his life’s mission and would feel deeply distressed if he abandoned Pakistan for personal comfort abroad.

“He has a purpose far greater than personal ease,” Kasim said, adding that while the family wishes to spend time with him, they respect his resolve.

Rumours Spark Fear and Anxiety

The sons also spoke about social media rumours regarding Imran Khan’s alleged death, calling the experience deeply disturbing. Suleiman described it as “incredibly stressful,” while Kasim said such claims were emotionally jarring, especially given their distance from Pakistan.

Family Meeting and Fallout

Referring to a recent jail visit by Imran’s sister Uzma Khanum, Suleiman said she told them Imran was physically fine but furious over prison conditions. He added that a message attributed to Imran on social media following the meeting may have led to increased efforts to isolate him further.

As tensions continue, the planned visit by Imran Khan’s sons is now being closely watched in Pakistan’s charged political environment.
